Make Do And Mend Apron from our ‘Pintuck‘ range is one of our originals and still a great favourite. Mary’s hand drawn design makes it fun and original. These best selling ‘Pintuck’ aprons by Mary Fellows are full of positivity to brighten up cooking. Screen printed and sewn here in England from 100% top quality tough cotton they are of course machine washable. The apron is generously sized to fit all, with an adjustable neck tape. They measure approx 86 x 61 cm. This design is also available as a matching tea towel.
Mary designed her ‘Pintuck’ range soon after her daughter was born, at the time there didn’t seem to be bright patterned tea towels and aprons in the shops. The range began with 6 tea towels quickly expanding to aprons. The inspiration was her love of fonts, packaging and advertising from the 50’s. 60’s and 70’s. Using a limited colour palette and some positive adages the range came about. Still being added to the designs are now available on mugs, tea towels, aprons, table mats, greetings cards, prints and bags. The first design was ‘It’s a Beautiful Day‘. It was entirely made from cutting shapes from paper. Mary begins her designs by drawing and painting images and fonts on paper as well as cutting shapes out of paper and then scanning all the elements into the computer. Here she can adjust and tweak the designs and play with colour.
The textiles are all printed and sewn in England using the highest quality cotton and inks to be lasting and durable. Look good and work even better!
